I have a few goals that haven’t come to fruition yet….why?

When things aren’t coming together as fast you want or if nothing is happening at all, there is usually a common reason.

  1. Your “WHY” or motive isn’t big enough.  This means there is no emotional reason for you to accomplish what you have stated in your LifeVision. Your mind is only hearing about how much work it’s going to be, the doing, doing, doing…without a motive or reason. Remember, the motive/why is one of the biggest factors in the accomplishment of goals.
  2. It’s not a true desire.  You think you want it, it’s a cultural thing, or it’s a goal that someone else has given you. For example; you record that you weigh some ridiculously low number. You thought you wanted to weigh that amount, but really, you want to be able to eat also!  The reality to weigh the amount recorded would be to never eat the foods that were “ off limits” Culturally, there is the pressure to be super thin and so you think this is what you should be doing. If you become more realistic and change the weight to something that is more realistic, you will begin seeing the results. You could still eat the “off limit” food in moderation and with exercise attain this new more realistic weight.  You realize your true desire is to be healthy rather than just super thin.
  3. There’s a lot of baggage often attached to this desire.  Using weight as an example again, if you’ve been overweight for years and years and years, it’s a bit unrealistic to think that in 6 short weeks you will be thin.  If this has been plaguing you for years, it may take a bit of extra time.  You may need to listen to your recording for 4-5 months until your beliefs about yourself start to change.  There is more than enough hope even if there is lots of baggage surrounding the goal.  This one just needs more time and BIG motives.
  4. It’s not God’s Will.  This reason is not used as a chicken exit for unaccomplished goals; however, there are things that happen in life that you have absolutely no control over.  When something doesn’t happen the way you planned it or if a goal just never seems to be accomplished, rather than getting all bent out of shape or frustrated, ask yourself “Why is this happening and What can I learn from it?” We can’t control when death will visit a loved-one or the economical future or we cannot control others to act or feel the way we want them to. If your goals and intentions are thoughtfully or prayerfully considered more often than not, those dreams and goal are in perfect alignment with God’s will.

With all the talk about the Universe, is this program anti-religious?

Even though much of your LifeVision focuses on the Laws of the Universe, you may feel uncomfortable asking the Universe for anything, instead of asking God or Source or Spirit.

The Law of Attraction coupled with the Power of Clear Intention exercises the power of faith on a grand scale. We can use our free will to design our lives according to what we feel best defines our purpose or our mission. When we act upon this design with full faith it will be accomplished unless it is contrary to the will of God, many find that using their LifeVision is an indispensable tool and guide in accomplishing your own unique life purpose.

Living a life of purpose is filling the measure of our creation.  Your LifeVision does not represent My Will vs. God’s Will.  Rather it is a vision of your highest possibilities or who you were created to be.

How many motives/why's do I have to include?

It is recommended you include as many “Why’s” as possible without sounding overly obnoxious.  The motive is the real power and driving force of the LifeVision.  These statements contain the emotional part of the LifeVision, the compelling force strong enough to change habits.

Example:  I pray every day.  (Why do I pray every day?)  I pray every day because it strengthens my relationship with my Creator.

Example:  I love to exercise every morning for 30 minutes beginning at 7:00 am.  (Why do I exercise?)  I love to exercise every morning for 30 minutes beginning at 7:00 am.  Because of my consistency with exercise I am a size 8, which completely thrills me!  I have more than enough energy to get through the day.  Frequently I get comments on how great I look. (There are 3 motives for the exercise routine alone!) As a general rule identify at least 2 motives, many find 5-6 motives or “Why” is most effective.

How often do I need to listen to my recording?

It’s most effective if you can listen to your LifeVision at least once a day. Sometimes it is helpful to listen twice a day if you’re feeling a bit stuck.  Make it a habit as soon as possible!  Finish your written LifeVision, record it immediately and begin listening.  After 3 or 4 weeks, PLAN on a re-recording.  Do not neglect this re-recording to continue the habit of daily listening!  Listening to the recording in the car if you are alone is the perfect opportunity as is on an ipod or cd while exercising

Can my LifeVision be downloaded onto an iPod?

Yes!  A great way to listen to your LifeVision is from your ipod while working out!  Regardless of how you record it, it will ultimately become a file (WAV or mp3) that can be your media player (iTunes).  Just make a playlist and each of your sections will become a track.  As an example your playlist could be called “John’s LifeVision” and within that playlist there are 5 tracks:  Spiritual 1/1/11, Health/Phys 1/2/11, Relationships 1/2/11, Fin/Profess 1/1/11, PD 1/1/11 Date the voice recordings so that when you re-record they won’t get the old and the new confused.

How long does it take to start working?

Some people experience things in their LifeVision happening literally within a week or two, a relationship is improved or mended or new opportunities present themselves. Other things may take more time, training for a triathlon or going on a trip to Europe. And others take longer, getting out of debt or buying a new home, or developing a business. Focus on the journey and enjoy the process no matter how much time it takes and rejoice in the miracles that will come to you by intentionally creating your ideal life.

How far out in the future can I write my LifeVision?

You can write about things as far in the future as you’d like.  However, it is recommended to keep it within 12-18 months.  A key reason is that your purpose in life or the goals you wish to achieve seem to unfold a layer at a time.  As you grow you will have new ideas and interests.

Is this appropriate for teenagers to use?

Absolutely!  One of the greatest benefits of using this tool at a young age is the confidence it creates.  Youth and teens begin telling themselves and believing that they are confident, capable, and accomplished. When they believe in themselves they start to become everything that they believe. Imagine what it would be like for a 14 year old to feed their mind with positive things about themselves; action plans for accomplishments, affirmations about the kind of relationships they have with others, the grades they get, study habits they develop, and the kind of character they have. A teen will clearly know who they are and where they are going when they create their own LifeVision.

We even have a Teen LifeVision Program.

How often should I re-record?

Even though your LifeVision may contain your aspirations for the current year, many find that they re-record up to 3-5 times a year. Most know it is time to re-record when you have created a list of new things you want to add to your LifeVision or when you have accomplished 5 or 6 things and the dates of those have already past or you want to use different music or record with more energy. There is no need to re-record every time you accomplish a goal. You will know when the time is right when you get LifeVision nausea.

One thing that is important to mention is that the second you finish recording your LifeVision, you will remember something you forgot!  This is common and will not hinder your progress. Your LifeVision will never be perfect or include everything you want to include; you may have stumbled on a few words.  Don’t let these things discourage you or prevent you from listening, it is still going to work just fine.

Can I share my LifeVision with my friends & family?

Frequently, you may be tempted to share your LifeVision with others.  Sharing overall ideas of your LifeVision is appropriate, but sharing the fine-tuned details of your LifeVision are not recommended.

With everything stated in present tense as if you’ve already achieved it, some may interpret your LifeVision as arrogant or silly.  It could also trigger sabotage on their part.  For example, suppose you are working on talking calmly to your children.  In your LifeVision you state, “I always talk in a calm manner to my children and have complete control of my voice and temper.”   Now imagine your spouse knowing that is in your LifeVision and he/she sometime in the future hears you lose your temper with one of your children and your spouse eyes you with a look of “Oh yeah, you have complete control?” Or even worse, they repeat your words to you in a mocking tone.  You consequently may lose all faith in yourself and your LifeVision as a result of the sabotage.
